If they ever come up with a swashbuckling School, I think one of the courses should be Laughing, Then Jumping Off Something.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth you'd probably be able to get a lot of free games.

Jack Handy

Well, I am writing from a computer in the computer lab at AMBS in Elkhart, Indiana.  I am currently doing the program Explore which is a theological exploration for Juniors and Seniors in Highschool (at least that's what the poster says)  We've done a lot of fun things with each other (trying to bond) as well as hearing from some of the different teachers from here and other different places.  We have all picked different theological questions/issues that we are exploring and the sort.  It is a wondeful program that I have been very impressed with.  I recommend it to anyone who would like to know more about pastoral work or they just like church and want to go a little deeper.

Recently and in the past I have been humored by Hellen Keller jokes and I am going to share a few with you now:

Why does Helen Keller have holes in her face? She tried eating with a fork.

Did you hear about the new Helen Keller Doll? You wind her up and she bumps into the furniture!

What is Helen Keller's favorite Convenience Store? WAAAWAAA

Why did Helen Keller's dog jump off a cliff and kill itself? You would too if your name was sajifjlsisdjifiuop

If Helen Keller fell down in the woods, would she make a sound?

Why can't Helen Keller drive? Because she's a woman! no seriously why can't Helen Keller drive? Because she's dead!

Have you seen a picture of Helen Kellers dad? Neither has she!

how did helen keller burn the side of her face? she answered the iron. how did she burn the other side? they called back

Whats Helen Kellers favourite movie? Around the Block in 80 days

If helen keller were psychic, would she call it a fourth sense?

how did helen keller burn her face? she was bobbing for french fries

what did hellen keller get for cristmas? polio! she had everything else.

Helen Keller went to town riding on a pony she stuck a feather in her hat and called it......... uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Whats helen keller's favorite color? Black

Why was Helen Keller's leg yellow? Her dog was blind too

what does Helen Keller call the closet? Disneyworld
Where do Helen Keller's parents have her go when there's company over? Disneyworld

I think these are mean--however I also find them absolutely hilarious-hope I didn't offend anyone or anything like that.

Favorite types of weather:

Perfect day-sunny, blue sky no humidity not hot but not cold

A little hot but not humidity

A little cool-nice breeze (cloudy optional)

Rainy

Thunderstorms

Windy

Cold

Freezing

HOT

Humid

Tornados

Well, I should have just closed out my site however I guess I'll update.  First off a couple deep thoughts

I scrambled to the top of the precipice where Nick was waiting. "That was fun," I said. "You bet it was," said Nick. "Let's climb higher." "No," I said. "I think we should be heading back now." "We have time," Nick insisted. I said we didn't, and Nick said we did. We argued back and forth like that for about 20 minutes, then finally decided to head back. I didn't say it was an interesting story

I wouldn't be surprised if someday some fishermen caught a big shark and cut it open, and there inside was a whole person. Then they cut the person open, and in him is a little baby shark. And in the baby shark there isn't a person, because it would be too small. But there's a little doll or something, like a Johnny Combat little toy guy---something like that.

Well, lets see what have I been doing since March 15th.  Oh man

Well, I went on Choir tour out to Lancaster which was really fun.  I actually enjoyed the bus ride and I liked our group.  I stayed with my cousins while there which was really fun as well.  We first stopped in Goshen and I stayed with a 91 year old man name Milo.  He was somewhat frail but a cute old guy--I guess.  In the morning he wanted to give us hugs goodbye and as he was hugging me he commented that he just loved getting hugs from girls.  That was a little awkward.  He then got lost twice on the way to his own church.  I had to help him find the road. Oh old men.

It was really nice to see my cousins, aunts and uncles.  I had another aunt from Illinois that just happened to be visiting her son and sister in the Lancaster area the same time as MSEC and so of course we gathered over food and great conversation.  Good times, good times.  MSEC came and went and then I guess banquet was the next thing.

That was fun.  I went with Kaleb Wyse who is one of my closest friends.  We went in a really neat 1930 Model A or T or some letter of the alphabet car.  The weather was really crumby the whole time-it was rainy and cold but it still proved to be fun. I really enjoy the foyer decorations and I liked the onion rings.  After banquet was pretty fun except that I watched the movie RV which I didn't like and I don't recommend.  We then went to stake'n shake for breakfast and I ordered an omelet that had nacho cheese on it.  That didn't seem to help the dish at all.  After regaining some sleep from banquet it was time to get a lot more serious about the musical, Cinderella.

I played a stepsister, Joy or Joyabella or something along those lines.  It was a really fun cast and overall it was a fun musical to do.  If anybody wants to see pictures you could go to the IMS website.  The next weekend was graduation.

Well-I graduated. That was fun.  Caleb Det. and I gave the student address.  After Bacc. was my graduation party.  We had Chili Dogs, nachos, peanuts, whoopi pies and cotton candy.  After graduation and that jazz our class headed off for D.C.

Class trip was really fun. I enjoyed that bus ride for the most part as well. I started feeling really sick on the way home and Sara Miller comforted me which was really nice since I thought I was going to puke.  I think my favorite part of class trip was just the bonding in general but my favorite site was the Church of Immaculate Conception.  There was some pretty neat artwork.  I also liked the dolphins at the aquarium and I liked our free day where I saw the White house, Smithsonian and a few other things.  After returning home from class trip it was more or less like summer had started.

This summer I have been a counselor at Crooked Creek Christian Camp which has be wonderful fabulous and all these other great things.  I am currently missing out on 6th and 7th grade camp and then I will miss out on the 7th and 8th grade camp.  I am really bummed because I think I could be a counselor for life. I love the staff and the campers and the atmosphere and the sort. This week (6th-7th) is a really small week and so they didn't need me and then next week I will be gone with the Explore program.  I'm getting to that.

I leave the 10th of July for a summer program called !Explore. I have been and will continue to then work at my church doing different things and learning different aspects of the church.  I am focusing on drama, administration and preaching and so I will learn more about those areas and somehow log 100 hours in the process.  I think it will be really fun and I am looking forward to meeting people as well as the learning process involved with Explore.

In between camp I would hang out with friends and family which is always fun.

I don't know if I ever wrote my final college decision but I am going to head up North this next fall and go to Canadian Mennonite University.  For now I am enrolled in a 3 year B.A in Church Ministry-I think that is what I want for now.

Whew that was a lot of writing and maybe I will update more than just every three months.

Perhaps I should either delete my account or post more often...

To start of this post Jack Handy

Contrary to what most people say, the most dangerous animal in the world is not the lion or the tiger or even the elephant. It's a shark riding on an elephant's back, just trampling and eating everything they see.

I guess I kinda lost control, because in the middle of the play I ran up and lit the evil puppet villain on fire. No, I didn't. Just kidding. I just said that to help illustrate one of the human emotions, which is freaking out. Another emotion is greed, as when you kill someone for money, or something like that. Another emotion is generosity, as when you pay someone double what he paid for his stupid puppet

The last time I wrote was around Valentines, now it's almost St. Patrick's-coincidence I think not.

In a nut shell I have gone to school, MYF, church and social outings. Probably the biggest thing I did in that time frame was fly up to Canada and visit a college there.  I visited Canadian Mennonite University for a couple of days to get a feel.  I enjoyed it quite a bit and I am seriously considering attending there this fall.

Musical practice is in full swing as well.

The premiere "Dancin' to Ice Ice Baby" happened in March and that was a lot of fun.

This is short but at least I updated.

Top 5 computer games as a kid

1. Jungle Hunt

3. You Don't Know Jack (all volumes((there are 3)))

4. Gizmos and Gadgets

5. Kid Pix

Favorite flavor of tootsie pops

2. Orange (guess)

3. Raspberry (a little different than red)

4. Red (cherry)

5. Green (watermelon) yeah they make'm

6. Pink (strawberry) this kind as well

7. Blue (blue raspberry) I've never had it but it still beats chocolate

If you go parachuting, and your parachute doesn't open, and you friends are all watching you fall, I think a funny gag would be to pretend you were swimming.

Sometimes, when I drive across the desert in the middle of the night, with no other cars around, I start imagining: What if there were no civilization out there? No cities, no factories, no people? And then I think: No people or factories? Then who made this car? And this highway? And I get so confused I have to stick my head out the window into the driving rain---unless there's lightning, because I could get struck on the head by a bolt.

--Jack Handy

Although, I am very shaky on the last verse, I have Ice Ice Baby memorized.  I also have the Free Willy theme song in my head constantly and so song is also almost memorized.  It's a  good thing though because, I really like it.  I had to work this morning at Miller's.  Later this evening I have a game at Lone Tree. We play L and M. Last night I went to the Boys home game and it was the first time I have seen them run in this year (at home).  Though I have seen IMS run in many many many times at home, I still love hearing Today, and watching the boys run in.  A bit of a rush.  Not a lot happened to me this week.  At Kalona Mennonite we made college boxes and Valentine cards.  I wrote one to Garrett Yoder which went something like this:

To My Special GARRETT,

My heart grows fonder of you each day,

You rock my world in every way,

Your rippling muscles make me weak,

It's you oh Garrett that I seek.

I hope he likes it.  I am still trying to decide what I am going to do next year but I'm sure something will come sooner or later.

Today while at Millers, I heard 4 or 5 ladies to the Kalona (or Mennonite) laugh.  They started to chuckle and then at the end of their little giggle they would sigh and then about half would say something like, Oh dear, or Ooh Boy.  After the 3rd lady did this it became really funny to me and I love hearing these older woman consistently laugh like that.

I don't know what to do for Favorites any more.  If you want to know any of my favorites write me a comment and I will be more than happy to post them.

I can't stand cheap people. It makes me real mad when someone says something like, "Hey, when are you going to pay me that $100 you owe me?" or "Do you have that $50 you borrowed?" Man, quit being so cheap!

I think a good product would be "Baby Duck Hat". It's a fake baby duck, which you strap on top of your head. Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then, all of a sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man, those ducks really take off! Also, Baby Duck Hat is good for parties.

I can still recall old Mister Barnslow getting out every morning and nailing a fresh load of tadpoles to the old board of his. Then he'd spin it round and round, like a wheel of fortune, and no matter where it stopped he'd yell out, "Tadpoles! Tadpoles is a winner!" We all thought he was crazy. But then we had some growing up to do

Baby Duck Hat-now that's  funny!  heh heh heh heh heh
It's been almost a month since I have last updated and so I dedicate this entry to Carolyn Beachy and Tanna Yoder.  They read it and it makes me happy.  So here's what happened in a month.

School started and I enjoy my classes quite a bit.  For now the homework load isn't too bad and so I look forward to my day.  Here is my day in a nutshell:
1st period-Study Hall.  There are quite a few seniors in this study hall and I'm just going to be honest, I rarely do school work while there.

2nd period- Advanced English.  There are 8 other seniors in this class and it is a  "learn what you want for the benifet of learning" class.  I really like the idea and so I'm sure I will enjoy this class as well

3rd period - Government.   This class is with Marcus-enough said.

4th period-Advanced Foods.  I really enjoy making different foods and toying with different recipes and so this class too is enjoyable.

5th period-Western Lit. The start of this class is philosophy  and other stuff at the end.  So far I don't mind this class but we'll see.

6th period- Spanish with all seniors.  There are 8 other students in this class and not to bad.  I am not good at spanish and so it's really hard to get an idea across.

7th period-yearbook same as last semester

8th period-choir same as last semester except with the new excitment of going on a bus to PA and I get to stay with one of my favorite aunts with Micah but it will still be fun.
Well, I wouldn't be surprised if that was dull.
Right now I am in a bit of a fight with my parents. I don't really like to complain on an online journal and so I would be more than happy to tell you in person.  I'm not at strong of a fighter as I thought becasue I planned to not talk to my mom and failed the minute I saw her.  Oh well.

Basketball is the other thing that is taking time out of my life.  Not that it is a bad thing.  We have won a couple more games which adds to the joy.  Team meal and showering afterwards is my favorite.
Now for a few of my favorite things:
Favorite seasons in order
1. Fall-I don't like when people call it autumn-but I like the weather and the sort.
2. Winter-I really like Christmas and the snow and thus Winter gets 2nd
3. Summer-The activities that take place are wonderful.
4. Spring- It's nice just not my favorite

Top 5 Beatles songs: (for now they often change)
1. Here comes the Sun
2. Twist and Shout
3. Golden Slumbers
4. Polythene Pam- no clue how to spell
5. Michelle
Top 5 Simon and Garfunkle songs:
1. 59th Bridge Street Song (feelin' Groovy)
2. Cecelia
3. Hmmm I can't think of the title but the chorus goes "soooo I'll continue to continue, to pretend...."
4. Silent Night
5. Bridge of Troubled Waters.
That's all for now b/c I have to go.
If you need something fun to do watch the music video of Michael Jackson at the beginning of Free Willy. "Will you be There".
Good times
